Community Spirit Fund

As we all know, Poulsbo is an amazing community that comes together to improve the quality of life for all its citizens.  Our "Community Spirit" campaign to raise funds to further the mission of the Senior Center. Please donate to help us keep our doors open to our Senior Community.

General Donations

Your donation helps us bring North Kitsap Senior Citizens together for fun activities & information.   The Center is an IRS 501(c)3 organization.  Your donations are eligible for a tax deduction according to the extent of the law.
In addition to a donation of cash or stock, you might consider a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly which might reduce your tax liability.  ALWAYS be sure to check with your tax-advisor regarding how such opportunities might benefit you.

When planning your IRA withdrawal strategy, you may want to consider making charitable donations through a QCD.

A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met.

In addition to the benefits of giving to charity, a QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Keeping your taxable income lower may reduce the impact to certain tax credits and deductions, including Social Security and Medicare.

Also, QCDs don't require that you itemize, which due to the recent tax law changes, means you may decide to take advantage of the higher standard deduction, but still use a QCD for charitable giving. For more information regarding QCD's click here.

Do you want to help us lay the foundation for the next decade of North Kitsap Senior Citizen's Center (NKSCC)? There are many ways, not all of them involving huge disbursements of cash. Here are some creative ideas you might not have thought about: Cash Donation Today Tax-deductible gifts via check, credit card, in person, or online   Employer Matching-Check to see if your workplace offers it.  Automatic Monthly Payments Gifts can be deducted periodically from your bank account, making larger donations easier by spreading them over time. Low-Cost Appreciated Stock Avoid paying the capital gains by giving full-market value to NKSCC. In-Kind Donation We are always in need of furniture, lighting, rugs, and much more - the market value is of your donation. Multi-Year Pledges A great way to ensure support will be there when we need it year after year. Designated Gifts Donate to a targeted project. Commemorative Gifts Donate a bench or rocking chair in honor of someone or something important to you. A Bequest in Your Will Your gift can be a specific sum or a percentage of an estate after other bequests. Just add an addendum to your existing will. Life Insurance and Savings Accounts Same as retirement plans, except those payments made to NKSCC are exempt only from estate taxes. IRA's and Retirement Plans Your estate receives a charitable deduction for the full gift amount on estate and income taxes, while we receive full donation value. Non-charitable heirs receive only a part of the value (since inherited assets are subject to estate and income taxes).
